Firstly, a friend asked what the numbers in my titles mean, so I’m explaining for new readers or those who missed my explanations. January 1, 2018 I started writing and posting every day of the year and I enjoyed it, so I decided to do it again this year. I thought of how to differentiate between the years, so I started with 2.1 and so on. That’s all.
Secondly, if you haven’t gotten a Mother’s Day gift yet, here are your options:
-
A gift box subscription (check out my post from yesterday).
-
Taking Mom to brunch.
-
A card and gift card to somewhere good that she might not get for herself — Sephora, a nice local restaurant, Ulta, Coach, The Loft, etc.
-
Take Mom to the movies, like I said Thursday — there are a few movies playing the Mom would like. Get her popcorn and all the candy. Our theaters here have booze. Get mom a lemondrop martini.
-
Bring Mom a nice card and put together three bouquets of the prettiest flowers — three dozen pink roses or orange — not red — take them out of the individual plastic and wrap them in a piece of butcher paper and a ribbon or string. They will look like a million bucks — but one dozen looks like sad grocery store flowers. So do assorted flowers. Show up at Mom’s, give her flowers, and spend the afternoon talking. Time is a wonderful gift.
Happy Mother’s Day weekend, friends.
