Dear Internet,
Please do not run a headline of my death next to a vote of how readers feel about it.
Sincerely,
Everyone
The unfortunate subject of this headline happens to be a distant relative of mine, but COME ON.
Today is Lundi Gras, or Fat Monday in New Orleans. If you're me, every Monday is Lundi Gras. That also goes for every day of the week.
You're allowed to laugh with me.
I'm watching a Hoarding: Buried Alive marathon. I like it when they start clearing stuff out and find pianos that the owners forgot were there.
The ScrapFest! t-shirt is almost finished. It's all over but the tweaking.
I just cried writing about the show I picked for tomorrow's TV blog. I am a dork. It has nothing to do with Hoarders.
Do I need to tell you how happy I am that the daughters have decided they do not want to play softball this spring? I may buy them trophies just because.
I have a new idea for the next big History Channel/A&E/TLC hit. Prawn Stars will follow New Orleans chefs who cook seafood. The main chef will be Chef Handsome John Besh. This is a brazillion dollar idea. Plus, lots of good food.
This is Mardi Gras week. A lot of people I know are going to parades tomorrow. A lot of other people from my area are going skiing. These are not activities people with anxiety enjoy. I will be working from home tomorrow (and maybe shopping online).
The 8 year-old needs a shoe box for a diorama she has to make, so I guess I have to buy new shoes. Darn.
I dropped my iphone (in a case) on the tile floor today and it wouldn't work for 15 minutes. I had a small heart attack.
My back hurts.
You know an episode of Hoarders is going to be good when the son-in-law shows up with a mullet and do-rag.
The hubs and I were watching tv the other night and a commercial came on for some cosmetic dentist. We thought it was fake because the before pictures were SO bad. I assumed it was fake SNL commercial. It wasn't.
Can we ban commercials that say the word "regular" and feature people smiling about constipation?
Also – commercials for diapers with the song "Whomp – There it is."
Liz and Jack from 30 Rock.
They're best friends, but he's her boss and mentor. They would be the odd couple if they were a couple, but they're not. They are perfect for each other in a lot of ways, but JUST NO.

By the way, Jack stroking Liz's back with a broom when whe's sick is exactly why they are my favorite.
Now, I should first say that I am a prude. I do not like love scenes as a rule and I hate seeing screen kisses where there is mouth noise and/or viewable tongue. It grosses me out. This may seem odd to you people, but it’s me.
The best kiss in the history of television happened in 1972 on All in the Family. Archie Bunker was a racist cab driver and Sammy Davis, Jr had left something in his cab. They posed for a photo together and Sammy kissed Archie on the cheek. At the time, this was huge. If you’re not familiar with Archie, he was bigoted against every nationality, race, and religion. Almost all of us can identify with it because there is a bigot in every family. It may be an elderly uncle you never see, but you have one.
The original cast of ER is the best ensemble cast. I lost my original post and may add more later. Ugh.
Shut up. The best title sequence OF ALL TIME is clearly from Wonder Woman. We see Wonder Woman transform from cartoon to Lynda Muthafuggin' Carter. Dude, I would dance to this in my Underoos when I was little with bracelets I made from aluminum foil. Holla. "In her satin tights, fighting for our rights" is also one of the best parts of a superhero theme ever.
The Beatles Anthology.
The Beatles Anthology was broadcast in 1995 and I spent several nights watching it in a friend's apartment back in college. I am and have always been a Beatles fan, collector, and afficianado since the age of 10. I remember hearing "Norwegian Wood" in a clothing store in the Arcadia, LA outlet mall and I was hooked. For Beatles fans, the Anthology series was awesome because it told the stories behind the stories from the (at the time) three living Beatles. Looking back, it was really something. It aired before George Harrison's death and we got to see his interviews. This was different because Harrison was very private, but he was quite candid in these interviews. The bonus features on the DVD now have outtakes of Paul, George, and Ringo jamming and talking in a way we're not used to seeing. Watching the Anthology still makes me very happy. Here is one of my favorite parts, a little of one of the bonus features.
My guilty pleasure show is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I watch this while getting my children ready for school in the morning because I have given up on morning news. This show has everything (read in Stefon's voice) – unicorns, ponies, pegauses (pegasusi?), a baby dragon who eats gemstones, parties, fashion design, sonic rainbooms, and is that Grace Jones as a bartender? NO! it's a witchdoctor zebra.
Here's one of my favorite scenes.
Elaine Benes. Seinfeld.
Maybe because she's so flawed and funny. Elaine is my favorite. I loved Elaine.
This is the only "maybe the dingo ate your baby" clip that I could embed. Sorry about the lame dingo.
