It’s All About Me Challenge – Day 16 – Put your iPod on shuffle: First 10 songs that play

Ok, sure.

1. “Accidents Will Happen” Elvis Costello

3. “Just a Touch” REM
4. “Just Like Heaven (acoustic)” The Cure
5. “Let the River Run” Carly Simon
6. “Heartbreak Beat” Psychedelic Furs
7. “I Got You” Split Enz
8. “July, July” The Decemberists

Dude, I am WAY proud of all of those tunes. And I knew Carly Simon would show up! Love her. Shocked that Counting Crows didn’t show up.

It’s All About Me Challenge – Day 14 – A letter to someone who has hurt you recently

My letter isn’t to Judy, it’s for someone else, but this isn’t that kind of blog. And no, it’s not for my spouse. “Give Judy My Notice” is Ben Folds’ eloquent, exact way of saying something everyone has felt with someone in their life at some point, whether it be a family member, friend, or a romantic partner.

“Give Judy My Notice”

Judy
Could anyone be loved anymore
Than I love you
Does it hurt you too?
But Judy
I’ve been feeling small too long
I love you so
But something’s wrong

And I come running when you want me here
And when you want me to, I disappear

Give Judy my notice

I knew if I made it easy for you
You’d settle for me, yeah eventually
But Judy
I won’t be your bitch anymore
And follow you ’round
And hold the door

And I can’t do this any longer
The vacuum left is so much stronger

Give Judy my notice
Give Judy my notice

Judy you know I’m not mad anymore
At least most of the time
But that could take a while
I’ve been living just to see you smile
Every once in a while

Tears fall
But that don’t mean nothing at all
It’s just cause I said it first
Yeah, that’s why it hurts

And I’m not sorry if you’re not sorry
And you’re not sorry until I make you

Give Judy my notice [Repeats]
My notice

All About Me Challenge – Day 13 – Your blog story

Here’s the story of a lovely lady who had a very, very lovely blog.

I will be repeating some things from a previous post. The site is KerryFaler.com, the blog is Just Kerry’s Little Blog. “Just Kerry’s Little Blog” has been the tagline of my blog for years. I’ve been blogging since 2003 when I started a site on Homestead. I moved to Blogger, then WordPress, Typepad, and now a WordPress site. The title of my old blog was “Scraps & Lagniappe,” because it started as a scrapbooking blog with extra stuff thrown in, but it ended up being all about the extra stuff. My life is all about the extra stuff.

All About Me Challenge – Day 12 – A person you would love to meet

OMG I don’t love meeting people. I really don’t. And the list of people I would love to meet has gotten smaller over the years. I kind of wish this topic was “a person you would love to meet in a dark alley under the cover of darkness while wearing night-vision goggles,” but oh well. I have issues.

I would love to meet Ina Garten. I find her incredibly interesting and I admire her a great deal. Not just for her cooking. Ina was a former White House nuclear policy analyst for Presidents Ford and Carter. She managed to have a career in politics and food, two of my great loves in life. That’s pretty damn awesome.
