Isn’t “lifestyle” a weird word? First it a negative word used for LGBTQ folks, then Martha Stewart was a”lifestyle expert,” meaning she taught us how to cook, bake, decorate, shop at tag sales, garden — an expert on pretty much everything. And now we have Gwyneth who sells a $370 t-shirt on Goop. White tee with cashmere. White-tee. So, now we’re here, where what you eat is a lifestyle. I am now fully living the plant-basted lifestyle. Not completely vegan. I’m not doing it for the planet, although it’s fantastic for those who do. I’m doing it for me,for my health. I still carry leather handbags and where leather shoes. I’m cooking meat and dairy for my family, but I’ll have vegetables. If they’re having tacos I’ll put beans and corn, salsa and veggie “cheese” on my tortilla. I’ve found vegan Ben & Jerry’s for National Hot Fudge Sundae Day on Thursday, though treats are not the norm. I’ve lost almost 17 lbs. That’s why. I had to something drastic for my life because it’s too easy to cheat on diets. And I don’t want to have Type 2 Diabetes one day. I’m not going down that road.
So, that’s what I’m up to. What are you up to? I’d like to know.
