This is my dog, Eleanor Rigby.

I love this fuzzy thing. I name our pets after writers or songs or whatnot, and she was destined to be a Beatles song. And since my pets have to have middle or last names, she had to be Eleanor Rigby. We call her Ellie most of the time.
I thought I would share some of her quirks.

She likes to hang out with Fitz (F. Catz Fitzgerald) whether he wants her to or not. Ellie is half Westie, half dachshund. That makes for a weird dog.
I’ll end with things she is scared of/ incessantly barks at
- The stationary bike
- Garbage bags
- Hair dryers
- Some shoes
- The cordless sweeper
- Brooms
- Mops
- The vacuum cleaner
- Laundry baskets
- When my husband takes his shirt off
- Hats
And that may be all.
And now for something completely different.
Here’s the song she’s named after. This version is pretty rare, I’d say. It’s from the little-seen film/musical Give My Regards to Broadstreet that I was a little obsessed with after seeing it on HBO around 1985/86. I found it the beat up VHS for sale in a discount bin in a tiny video store when spending the night with my grandparents. I’m sure they thought I was a weird 11 or 12 year old asking for a Paul McCartney musical. The film is weird. Artsy and odd. Ringo and Linda and George Eastman are in it, but no Harrison (I never heard a reason why he was left out or not interested). The clip below hints at the weirdness, but even weirder is that it’s the VHS, obviously, subtitled in what I assume is Japanese. See? Weird.

We lost two of our dogs last week.. And we have a mama pibble and 5 5 week old puppies. Today we started puppy food. And I’m trying not to fall in love with all of them. I am failing at it.

I’m so sorry to hear that. I had a hard time when we had to put our Lucy down last spring.
It’s hard not to fall in love with puppies. I don’t blame you. Can you keep one?
