31 day Christmas challenge – Day 5: Favorite Christmas memory

My favorite Christmas memory is Christmas 2001. It was my oldest daughter's first Christmas and my Mammaw Patsy's last. My parents were still together and my sister wasn't using drugs. We had a wonderful time at my grandparents' house.

That was kind of depressing, so here's something that isn't!

My new favorite Christmas memory is the video below. It is beyond Christmas magic.

Where can I get one of those leotards?

  1. I was recently thinking about writing on my blog about a favorite Christmas memory, too. I started thinking about it, how it was our first Christmas Eve in Birmingham and the kids and I heard Christmas music and ran outside and Santa was riding by the house on a firetruck. The kids were so excited (and so was I). We were jumping up and down on the porch, waving and yelling Merry Christmas. Then I got to the part about how I love this memory so much even though my husband was passed out on the sofa and I found a half-empty bottle of pills in his glove compartment (for like the hundredth time).
    Depressing.
So, all this to say, I feel you.
Christmas is always a mix of happy and sad, cookies and booze.
    Thanks for sharing.
