My favorite Christmas movie of the past couple of years has been The Bishop's Wife. It stars Cary Grant as an angel sent from Heaven to help a bishop who is trying to raise the funds to build a cathedral. Of course, he ends up helping in more ways than that and the story is just wonderful.
Here's one of my favorite scenes, when Grant tells the typewriter to take a sermon.
