Trouble in the Gulf

Like I have time for this. I have ScrapFest! workshops to post! And what kind of name for a hurricane is Edouard? Like we’re afraid of that. I’ll give you E names to be afraid of: Elvis, Ebola, Erik (end a name with a K and you’ve got a mess of trouble), Edgar, Ebeneezer — damn, I’d already be packed and headed for Shreveport if you were a hurricane named Ebeneezer or Ebola.  You don’t mess around with that kind of Hurricane.

Just for funsies, here’s the rest of our hurricane names for the year.

Fay, Gustav, Hanna, Ike, Josephine, Kyle, Laura, Marco, Nana, Omar, Paloma, Rene, Sally, Teddy, Vicky, & Wilfred.  Wilfred?  Are you kidding me?  Ike?  Nana is another name for Grandma!  Gustav is ok, I guess. Omar is kinda scary.

Here’s my new list for 2008.  Fabio, Gustav, Hitler, Igor, Jack the Ripper, Keifer, Lisa (I’ve known a bunch of mean girls named Lisa.  However, one of the current friends I have named Lisa are mean), Mack, Nellie (Olsen), Omar, Phoenix, Reagan (Ronald Reagan scared me to death), Sybil, Tabasco, Venus, and Walken (Christopher).  If the hurricane-namer people are reading this, I’m sorry, I tend to get off on tangents and I’m just trying to help.  I’m thoughtful that way.

  1. I often find myself saying that you have nothing to do seeing you have time for this blog. However, I also must have nothing to do as I find time to read this crap and actually look forward to it!!!
And who names these hurricanes anyway? Why couldnt we spell Edouard the American way?? ANd Sally? What kind of hurricane is that? Sally Struthers, Sally Jesse Raphael, Sally Field and Sally from peanuts come to mind when I hear that name. Nothing frightening there except maybe the red glasses on Raphael. Fabio?? You are funny. Although, he is looking kind of scary lately on the cover of the books I’ve seen. Nothing about him screams rip my clothes off and ravish my naked body romance novel to me. Thats my rant for the day. Maybe I should get a blog…..
