7.4/366: damp January

In the Axios newsletter, I get every day, there was an article about “Damp January,” where people are just cutting back or not doing “Dry January.”

There was a section on how to answer “Why aren’t you drinking?” As someone who drinks maybe twice a year, I’m asking you not to ask. Oh, and people ask! I don’t understand why they ask, but they take affront to it.

People have their reasons for not drinking or they just don’t feel like it that night. You don’t want me to bring the mood down by explaining that alcoholism runs in my family and that I’m good with my tea. So, if someone at your event or dinner says “no thanks” when you offer wine, if they don’t already have a beverage, “let me know if I can get you anything” is the response to give. Trust me, it’s perfect and always welcome.

And no, Im not judging you you’re having a glass of wine. We’re good.

Everyone, enjoy whatever kind of January you want!

7.2/366: resolutions

Yep.

No, I’m not perfect, but I’m not making resolutions.

I never do.

I have ADHD.

But I do plan on using my stationary bike more to get my knees “loose.” I’m also going to continue working on getting my weight down by medical means. I’ve worked on diet and exercise most of my life and the only thing that worked was surgery. I have to get weight off to be a candidate for new knees, so I’m going to do what I have to do.

So, that and rest working with my children to set themselves up for success. But that’s an everyday thing.

So, yeah. That’s about it. See y’all tomorrow.
