1.148/366: 42 until 50

I know for sure that everything breaks.

Almost everything in our house has broken or been replaced in regard to electrical/HVAC stuff in the ten years that we’ve owned this house, we could have sent thousands of puppies to puppy kindergarten.

Everything breaks.

This week: 1/4 of our electrical system and one air conditioning condenser. May have to replace the modem tomorrow.

Everything breaks. And that’s only the tangible things.

The 44th thing I know for sure is that I am not good at video games. I played Mario Party with the kids last night. I have not played a video game, save for testing my skill at Centipede a number of years ago (I wasn’t the best anymore) and expected to lose. I did lose. I have zero hand eye coordination. Zero. Nada. Nothin’. When I wasn’t falling off a cliff, I was drowning or falling in a hole. It was sad.

This year I came to terms with the face that coloring my hair was not cutting it anymore. I was coloring my roots every three to four weeks and that is not acceptable.

I made a consultation appointment with my wonderful stylist and we decided to strip the color from my hair and do platinum highlights. My hair is half beige/half white.

And I’m ok with that.

7.141/366: 50 until 50

You know we love us a good number in the title on the kerry blog (not really, it’s just the countdown of the year, and this year is a special number because I’ll be 50 in July. So, as my birthday twin Hillary suggested, I’m doing a countdown of the things I know for sure each day. Every year (I think I missed last year), I post the number of things I know for sure about the number birthdays I am. They’re never in any particular order, some are silly, some are more serious. It’s just very Kerry.

So, the thing I’m kicking off the Things I Know for Sure with is to take care of your skin. You don’t need a 14-step routine. That’s stupid and that’s only for companies to take your money. Makeup remover, cleanser, moisturizer. Specialty things like Hyaluronic acid or Retinol only if you need them. And it doesn’t need to be expensive. I know this for sure.
