I know for sure that I need time alone. I think most people do, but I need my alone time. Time to regroup, time to chill. And its better for everyone around me.

I know for sure that I need time alone. I think most people do, but I need my alone time. Time to regroup, time to chill. And its better for everyone around me.

I know for sure that that I’m doing my best. I know I’ve said that before, but it’s true. Audre Lorde’s words here are perfect. “I am my best work — a series of road maps, reports, recipes, doodles, and prayers from the front lines.”
If that’s not me, I don’t know what is. I am scattered, I am not close to perfect, but I am doing my best.
I know for sure that self-care is important. I don’t know what we called it before that term was invented, but you have to do more than take care of yourself self. More than the act of getting clean and getting dressed.
You have to do things that make you feel more like you. Whatever that is for you. For me, it’s makeup every day, hair done, dressed in something presentable. Moisturizer. Lipstick. Outfit. Hair.
You also have to take care of your mental health and spend time with yourself. I’m an introvert with extroverted tendencies. I need a lot of alone time. I have to get enough sleep. I have to “treat myself.”

I know for sure that I would be way more likely to be electrocuted than bitten by a shark.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, about 250,000 human bites are reported nationwide each year, nearly 3,500 times more than shark bites. The stat about New Yorkers specifically comes from a 1979 study that found 892 human bites reported in New York City in 1977 – 63 times more than worldwide shark bites that same year. And experts confirm that the stat still stands.

After living in the Gulf Coast, I know for sure the hurricane predictors are maybe 10% more accurate on average than I am.
I can also attest that the image below is accurate.

I know for sure that we can’t trust Texas.

I know for sure that I have to relax.

This is one of the ponds near my house in out subdivision. Relaxing place to stop.
I don’t know how, (yes I do — math) I started this series two days earlier than I needs to. So you’re getting two to grow on.
I know for sure that you can’t get through life without amazing friends. It’s National Best Friends Day. So, this one goes out to Dans and Kim.
And in case you’re in need a friend, there’s this:
I know for sure that today is a milestone for everyone in my generation as well as baby boomers. After a Guinness-recognized record 41 seasons, Pat Sajak is retiring from Wheel of Fortune.
Growing up, I watched the show with my grandparents (who never missed it) and it blew their minds when I solved a puzzle that only had Ss and Es. It was Steven Spielberg. I was eleven. They thought I was a genius.
Although I only catch Wheel every once in a while, it won’t be the same. Ryan Seacrest is replacing Pat. It definitely won’t be the same. Just like The Price is Right. No one is Bob Barker.
I know for sure that therapy is great. Yes, I’ve said it before, but it’s incredible. I’m so thankful it was there for me when I needed it and I’m grateful for the therapist in my loved one’s life. Don’t be afraid to talk to someone. You don’t have to be at the end of your rope. It’s just a tool in your mental health kit. J
ust a tool. That’s all.
