4.69/365: Bad Books

Have I told y’all before about how much I love Spotify? I love finding artists I’ve never heard of and probably would never be introduced to had Spotify not said “hey, you like this, so maybe you’d like this.” It matches me with other artists better than Apple Music, in my experience. Amazon’s service is pretty sad and I haven’t picked Pandora up again in years. I gave up on SiriusXM because the selection just wasn’t great. It never seemed like the stations I listened to ever got it right — like if it’s a New Wave station, don’t throw ska up in there. Don’t do that. It was always just almost there.

Anyway, Spotify keeps getting it right. This isn’t a new band or a new song, but it is to me and I love it. Here’s Bad Books’ song, “Forest Whitaker.” Enjoy.

4.64/365: The Walter van Beirendonck spring collection

Upon seeing this collection Women’s Wear Daily, I knew my readers needed to see the designs. It’s interesting.

“The last months became very surreal,” said Walter van Beirendonck, explaining he very quickly knew it would be impossible to realize the spring collection in a typical fashion. “The fabrics were not available, I could not work with my normal producers, and like that I started to think about an alternative.”

The alternative was dolls. Modified Ken dolls, to my best guess, with super weird faces and even weirder clothes. If you can call them clothes. Just wow.

We start out fairly normal.
Add some serial killer chic.
What Project Runway reject hell is this?
One in the hand beats two in a bush or something.
It’s the superhero Wonder What the Fuck This Is Man!
Leftovers from making a Muppet.
It’s Ghosts Whisper Loud Man! Because we couldn’t see that Carole Baskin mess from a mile away.
Ending with the Whole Damn Muppet. It’s Mr. Snuffleupagus’s friend the sabre tooth leopard thing. This is scary. Do not recommend.

The end.
