4.237/365: Amazon done done it again

Look at this.

An Amazon FB ad recommended this to me.
An Oscar de la Renta pineapple blouse that goes up to a size 10 and costs 3690 American dollars OR $390 a month. LIKE A CAR. You’re not even ready to hear that the matching skirt is $3900.

I have questions.

  1. When did Amazon get into the luxury brand business?
  2. Besides Katy Perry or Lady Gaga, who would want to look like a pineapple?
  3. What makes Amazon think I want a pineapple top? I don’t even like pineapple. It’s the only fruit that can digest YOU. That’s a fact. Think about that for a minute.
  4. If I did want to spent almost 4 Gs on a shirt, why would I want leaves sprouting up out of my shoulders like I just walked out of the pineapple field?
  5. Size 10? Amazon, how long have you known me?

4.235/365: good luck, Houston

Just to let y’all know how bad COVID is in the Houston area today, the hospital system my doctors are in closed three of its ERs today due to the surge.

And to drive that home a little further, last week Governor Greg Abbott tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and received Regeneron’s monoclonal antibody treatment. He was fully vaccinated and I’m glad he’s ok.

I’d also like to point out that the governor said “There’s no more time for government mandates” last month. “This is time for individual responsibility, ” he said.

So, turns out individuals aren’t that responsible because look at those three ERs that are full. If only there was someone, some people who had urged the public to get vaccinated and put a mask mandate in place. You know, like someone in the government who had the benefit of being vaccinated early and given drugs regular everyday people won’t get in the hospital.

Oh, wait. I know of people like that.
