I play all of the New York Times games every morning. Connections is new-ish and is my favorite. It’s a 4×4 puzzle of words, making up four groups of four words that have a theme.
This is an example from February:

So you look at it, you think “oh, spot and ink, maybe pen…” NO. It’s never what you first suspect. Here are the answers for this one:

COLORS MINUS THEIR FIRST LETTERS. What the heck are they on? The colors get progressively tricky. This one was nuts.
But that was nothing. Today we got a not funny April Fool’s Day puzzle:

WHAT NOW? Emojis?! I did not get today’s puzzle. I didn’t get a single category.
