When I was a kid, I was all about Barbie. I had dozens, one of which was Day to Night Barbie. She came in a hat, suit, and briefcase, then transitioned in a fantastic dress.
As a child, I just knew there would be many occasions when, as an editor with Rolling Stone, I would need to change from my suit into a cocktail dress for nights on the town. Dates, parties. Obviously.
I have to say, Barbie disappointed me.

I have never had a job that required a hat, suit, or briefcase. And the only thing I ever transitioned into was work out clothes when I worked in Atlanta. Not parties. Not dates. I was already married. Our date nights never required cocktail dresses. Now I’m a stay at home mom and I transition into my good yoga pants from my regular yoga pants.
Does anyone else feel lied to by Barbie? This is a personal attack.
