This TikTok is about what I’ve been saying for several years now. I identify with this so much. I am 46. I am officially middle-aged. I do not know the younger bands/artists unless they appear in my Spotify daily playlists. I rarely know the artists on SNL anymore. Until I saw Lady Antebellum (until they became Lady A — which, btw, how freaking stupid was that?) on The Chew, I thought it was one woman. Phosphorescent, a guy, not a band. Lord Huron is not one guy. Belle and Sebastian are not a duo. But The Weeknd is one dude (who can’t spell) and Iron & Wine is a guy named Sam Beam. This is probably no news to a bunch of you, but I’m out of touch with music today — and Lord knows, I never thought I would say that.
