3.220/366: this is what depression feels like

Yesterday I posted about anxiety; today let’s look at depression.

I see dozens of Facebook and Instagram friends posting about staying in PJs, having dirty hair, not getting out, overeating, and not engaging. These are things that can be nothing or can be signs of depression if it’s lasted for a while. Sure, if you’re working from home you don’t HAVE to get dressed, but get dressed. It’s easy not to. Shower, even if you’re not going anywhere. Eat when you’re hungry. Engage, even if it’s only texts.

Man, I’ve been there many, many times, but I’m properly diagnosed and medicated and I AM GOOD. Do I have rough days? Yep. But it’s usually because I’m mad that my knee hurts. Or regular stuff that happens to everyone. But I don’t get don’t often.

Here are some indicators of depression if you’ve been down longer than you should. If you want to talk to someone about it, do it. If you don’t have anyone, shoot me an email. You can be ok, you really can.
