Y'all knew I was going to pick Mommie Dearest, right? I've posted enough clips from the movie on the blog over the years, haven't I? I thought so. There are so many movies that fit this category, but the truth is that Mommie Dearest doesn't fit anywhere else. Sure, it's a drama, but it's camp. It's not supposed to be a comedy. It's just one of my favorites ever. I will watch it whenever notice it's on television, I watch clips of it on You Tube sometimes when I'm down (the "don't fuck with me, fellas! This ain't my first time at the rodeo!" scene would cheer up Job). So, yeah — Mommie Dearest.
Christina Crawford wrote the book the movie was based on and two of her siblings deny that some of the things in the book/movie happened, but I don't care, I love it anyway.
