Teena Marie was the protege of Rick James and possessed more fabulosity than allowed under the law. Also, she was mentioned in my favorite movie, Pretty in Pink, when Andrew McCarthy's character is looking for music recommendations in the record store where Molly Ringwald's character works. Awesome.
